There are two strange noises from my car.

One is from transmission..
When you start off(on first gear or reverse) I hear ticking sound from tranny when I slip the clutch to start off...(normal drive) And sometimes even when on the idle..

Other one from the engine at the timing belt.. Sounds like something is grinding or like chainsaw. I thought maybe timing belt touches the timing belt cover, but there is same noise even when the timing belt cover is off..

Is there any common problems that cause these noises??
Anyone have clue?
Thank you

Transmission possibility: Clutch throwout bearing.
TB possibility: idler pulley, tensioner pulley, B belt tensioner, or water pump.
My clutch had been replce only like 400 miles ago to ACT2100 and XACT flywheels...
Is it problem to have noise from tanny??
If the pulley making the noises, is that mean its time to replace them?? They making sound becuase there is something wrong with pulley??

If it's really coming from the tranny yes. Check the tranny oil level.

Again yes if they are the noise culpret. You should eliminate the water pump possibility first however by either removing it's belt or using a stethoscope (or long screwdriver) against it and your ear.

I replaced the water pump like 5000 miles ago...

Something easy to check... AC-compressor-belt-tensioner-retainer-nut(geez).
It's the nut that holds the tensioner ass in place. Look down the tensioner and it's sitting side ways vs tensioner bolt is on top. If it's lose or defunct, the belt will be rubbing against the t-belt shroud and make screeching noise. Something easy to check. Good luck:thumb:

Another "not so easy" place to check is the "oil pump sprocket nut". I've had mine come off thru the lower belt housing. Put some Locktite on the bolt next time.
