ok here's my story and plz do not talk crap about why I'm haveing the probs I'm haveing with my car that would be great. I just got a 2.5 Catback + head from eBay and i have installed it myself ( prob a bad idea) the tail end where it meets the muffler did not line up right so i used my jack to try and line it up the best i can. I'm not 100% sure if that part is tight or leaking i was going to take it into a shop and have them take a look to make sure everything was good tomorrow. The next day i was able to drive it to work with a piping cap, drove it home and my car would want to die and idle really bad while at a stop ill have to give it a little gas to keep it going. Once i got it home i got a 5/8 inch flare cap everything looked good drove it around and it was doing the same thing so i thought it would be the throttle body gasket so i replaced it and still have the same prob also throwing the code P0171 (system too lean bank 1). I read somewhere that cleaning the o2 sensors would help and i notice they were all black but they weren't when i installed them in the Catback the other day and i also remember when i took the head it to get the Flare cap sized it was all black inside the pipes. I also found the same black stuff inside the throttle body when i installed the new gasket some people say its oil but im not sure any idea whats going on?
P.S
i should also add one of the head bolts is a lil stripped so its not torqued down to 17lbs like the others are

Ya know I'd like to help but I having a hard time. I can't find the beginning of any of your sentences, there's not any cap first letters. Sorry.

A lot of your discription is sounding like a bad O2 sensor. Only the front one is used by the Ecu the adjust fuel. Regardless of have other problems your probably needing a new one. I would start with replacing it first.

I cleaned both of them and they had the black stuff on them but I'll look in to it. Of its not the prob what else could it be? I didn't have any problems with the stock at all

I've never had any luck cleaning O2's. Once the carbon gets baked into the sensor's ceramic element housing it's done. Save yourself some time & toss it and buy a new one.

Since both of them were dirty just the same I'll just replace them both? Or should I just start with the front one by the head first?

Unless the code specifically says the rear o2, I wouldn't bother with replacing that one. It really only throws a code if you don't have a cat or if it's bad. I've never heard of cleaning an o2 sensor so I would just replace it.
