Im looking to build a full out track car capable of running 10's or better. Can anyone give me the rundown on some of basic things I will need. My parts list is as follows:

t67 turbo
unknown intercooler
unknown wastegate
FIC fuel rail
FIC 1000cc injectors
Wallbro 255lph w/ rewire
Eagle crank
Weisco pistons
Eagle H beam rods
280/280 cams
adjustable cam gears

And thats about all I got right now. My biggest concern is making sure I get the RIGHT parts needed for this build. I dont want to skimp out on something cheap, nor do I want to get something that cant withstand power or psi (25-30)

Any suggestions folks?

You will be better off with a T3 35r set up as it will run the number and be great on the street as well.

Well the reason im saying this is becuase ive built quite a few of these cars. Between 1g and 2g. We just got done building my brother-in-laws car which could easily be a 10 second car if he could catch traction. The reason I want a t67 is becuase it can handle crazy boost if I want to be stupid and spool high numbers, and its relativley cheap turbo on cxracing.com. As appose to a 35r going for a grand or more. Once this gets built, the only street use ill be doing with it, is going to the local car meets. Other than that, its my track car. Which is why I need a roll cage. I looked up the regulations for New England Dragway, and if you run better than 10.99 seconds, I need a roll cage and fuel cell.

It would be stupid for me to make one pass on the track and have to go home. Might as well get all the satfey stuff done while i got the time.

If you really want to run tens. Dont buy ebay quality anything unless its some intercooler piping. Which even that can sometimes be questionable. I would look into the vr speed factory intercooler Its capable to a 500- 600 hp range. E t s makes some really nice stuff if you have the money.

Wait OMG. Cxracing t67 is in all likelyhood not a real t67.

A) I don't see a t67 on their website
B) Their GT35 is 300 and 35R is 600.
C) If you don't have the money for a decent turbo, don't buy an ebay turbo.

If you want a 20g, I have one, check your PM's. Other than that, we've said holset. It is the cheapest, most reliable, biggest power producing turbo that you will get. (By this I mean $$$ to power/reliability ratio is awesome)

You see, you change from a turbonetics t67 to an eBay knockoff which by no means is a turbonetics turbo. You are going to trust the reliability of an eBay turbo, which generally fail, opposed to a holset?

Its not worth the money at all. My friend ran the knock off 16 sure it lasted a year on 16lbs of boost and about a week on 25. His car currently sits in my garage. If your trying to go cheap get the 20g which in the tdo6 housing is a bit laggy but for your goals might not be a problem or go holset. You can pick up a 20g which bolts right in for the cost of that chinabay turbo you want and will last. I bought a holset hx35 off some guy who has a cumming. I have more invested in the set up then the actual turbo. You can beat it.

So were would I be able to find an exhaust housing for that 35r? Thats a really good price. The only problem is that its rated for 300-500hp. And if I want more than that, im screwed. Im going to be running a side exit exhaust, so im not worried about DP's or anything. Just a simple V-band exhaust housing will make me a happy panda haha

but thats the nice part about being a trust fund baby!!! unlimited amounts of whatever i want... i can afford to pay for the tuning while you live in your broke ride!!! good to be me

Okay, you're a trust fund baby, a mighty stupid one! You better learn how to use your money intelligently before the source runs out cause I don't doubt you'll have trouble making money!

hey slowgsr what kind of ignition you running? I know you must have more than stock running 11"s ? sweet times by the way...

Mike

I have stock ignition and last year my quickest E.T. was 10.99 and my best mph was 134mph. Stock 1g coils have been proven to 700whp.

I'm confused:hmm: You've built "quite a few of these cars" one of which could easily be a 10 second car yet you're on the NEWBIE forum asking how to build a 10 second car? Not to be a jerk but you really don't talk like you even know how to run 13's.
Maybe you should call one of the engine building vendors on here first for a 10 second build-up or even order one of their engines instead.
Good luck

Ban?

I kind of agree with jlr2196. You're all of the place when it comes to this build. Going top of the line block and head work and just sticking with the cheapest turbo you can possibly get your hand on. The little 2.0L engine main source of power is the TURBO. I cannot even consider you're seeking a 10 sec car riding on a CXRacing GT35R which is $620, which says 300-500HP, and not Garrett based. It's as good as an eBay crapper. A real Garrett based can put out over 650 plus HP.

If he was a real so good lucky trust fund baby he would go for bigger and better sport cars then riding on an AEM EMS with UEGO wideband on stock block!

In a car you can pick up for a grand no less. Baller

Im surprised this thread wasnt locked days ago tbh. To the op, invest about 15grand in it and get some overnite parts from japan, then you will decimate all :hellyeah: ROFL

Thanks for the cheesy F&F line. Like i said, ive built a few of these cars. But the parts were already availiable for me to build it. Now that im the one doing the part buying, I needed to make a few things clear before i spent the money. As for the trust fund kid...shut up, go away, and stop annoying everyone around you. Try hugging a tree or something.

i know you gotta start somewhere right??? do it right the first time... by the way i have a 2000 camaro ss also

BIG WHOOP you little trust fund baby!!! Along with my fully built DSM with a fat 89 lb/min turbo I too have a '02 Corvette with a stroker LS1 engine powered by a YSI supercharger pushing out over 800 HP and a '05 Ram 1500 turbodiesel truck lifted with Fox shocks. And yet my money comes from self-earned hard work!

You know, people with a minimum wage job have camaro's too! Shocking, I know. And they actually work for their money, again, shocking.

To the OP, I saw it mentioned once in this thread, but I think it's important still and it didn't get much attention the first time. Take a look at the vendors sites since most of them have/had dsm's running 10's at some point. See what they did to their car. Also, if you click on "members" in the top right of the menu tolbar the first drop down is a 1/4 mile list. From there you can go see what the guys running 10's are doing. Slowly, you'll start to see a lot of patterns that you can easily mimic. 10's aren't east, but at the same time, they aren't impossible for someone dedicated to reach.

And also, please don't cheap out on the turbo. You WILL regret it. Plus, let's say you hit a 10 on that cheap turbo...think what you could have done with a quality one.

Thanks for the info. Ive been doing a lot of research, and I found some pretty good stuff. I think im going to do an E85 fuel system just in case I want to run it in the future. Among other things of course
