so i've already got a 96 talon base model. and i mean base model. only option on the original window sticker was am/fm stereo with tape...but i'm gettin a 1st gen gsx for 500 here in a week or so. needs a fuel pump but thats not too bad. i'll post some pics whenever i can. got the 2nd gen for the show and the first gen for the go

Yep, they're fun if you know what you're doin. I've got three and I'm still lookin in the classifieds for good deals.

Hey I dont want to steal this thread but I want to pick everyones brains a little bit. I found a 1g awd talon last night that I can get for $500.00 It has a full 3" exhaust, a 16g (not sure how to tell if small or big) turbo timer, alarm, boost and oil gauges on the pillar. Its too good to be true. But its an auto. The motor is blown or somthing is very bad due to the kid not having anything on to regulate boost. Im not sure what else has been done to the car, I really want to pick this up but would it but want a 5speed awd. I dont think it would be that hard for me to convert, but I just got done putting my 90 laser back together. What do you guys think should I just suck it up and get the whole thing. I am already getting the turbo and radiator on saturday for $130 so that could be like a down paymant twords the car.

I think it's a better idea to stick to what you got. Like an old kung-fu master once said, "master one style before trying another."

Yea it would be another project but for all the parts that are involved how can I really turn that down. I mean a 16g full 3" turbo back and a set of gauges is going to run me well over $500.00 (not to mention the viper alarm, turbo timer and keyless entry) Oh well I guess I could always part out the talon when I am done with what I need. Or sell off the tranny to get a 5 speed. My laser is all done (except for the blown radiator) So I can have that as my DD while I decide what to do. Oh well Its not certin yet I know for sure if I am picking up the whole thing on saturday.
