my horn turns on the head lights.

I am raising the dead so to speak,

all items fixed or repaired have been back to stock or near stock. I dont want to start mods untill I understand the basics. The car is a 1990 talon tsi w/alarm. I am one step away from completion. Everything now works exept the horn. I have read many post before writing this. I dont wont it to work!! But after its last issue with not starting, the horn now turns the head lights on. let me explain. Turned the car off to replace my crush washers on the turbo (fully replaced, but had leaks). Went to turn the car on and?? Nothing. Days of endless thought and searching, the car starts. The horn has always been an issue. Read all of the post and know why. Was going to bypass everything so I could have a push button relay. While still full factory---noticed that hitting the horn turned on only the head lights. The light switch was on and the head lights would only come on when I touched the horn. Everything works. EVERYTHING. But my headlights!!! I am thinking of just grounding that line on a screw before the colume. Also running a horn with fusible ling off of the battery just for inspection. Any Ideas

This is usually an alarm problem (defective or miswired).

It was some thing as simple as a fuse. The fuse had nothing to do with the lighs or horn.

just be glad the headlights didnt turn on the horn . one of my other cars used to do that and all i could do was sit there and laugh/cry

or when you step on the brake the horn honks now thats fun
