Hello, I am another guy that fell in love with the DSM world and I bought my first turbo car.

All i was told about it was that it was going to be setup as a "race car" and battery was relocated in the hatch, fully adjustable suspension, full 3"exhaust, racing steering wheel, and 17' wheels. (brand new tires)

95 eclipse gsx 95k miles.
I bought it from a guy hard on money and all he told me is that someone told him that his engine was "crank walked". Anyways.. i bought it for $600 and hauled it back home. I arrived home, started it up... it ran rough... but still was running. I found that the hose for the BOV was pushing the MAF sensor to where it was slightly disconnected. and the BOV that was on it had blown the threading out.

So i replaced the BOV with a Greddy BOV (bought off a friend for $40). and just turned the MAF 180 degrees. It starts right up and runs perfect... :thumb:

A week later after driving it, i was going about 135mph for my first test to push it some and what i think happened... was a rod knocking very loud. I am not sure what i have done, but i am new to this and have researched videos of rods knocking and it sounds like that.

Can anyone give me a rundown of what i should do now??? i have recently bought a 6bolt engine for what i wanted to build on to later... what should i do with the 2g engine??? and where should i begin with the 6bolt??? Thank you.

I need the 91-94 turbo water pipe. dsmgraveyard is out of stock, and I can't find anyone on classifieds that has one ready to ship today. As far as the 20g turbo goes, I already have the Godspeed 20g in my garage. I only paid $100 for it and its still NEW in packaging. I am thinking of doing some porting on it, but want to study on how to do it the right way first.

Id say go big from the get go. Just set your boost levels nice and low. And of course, it goes without saying, have ALL supporting mods including link. Just get the turbo you want to have. Dont buy a 14b now only to sell it and lose money 1k miles later when your ready for more power. I went straight from a bone stock 7 bolt to fully built internals, all the add ons with a brand new 5858 and couldnt be happier. I mean, i kept the stock t25 during break in but then upgraded immediately. Dont buy things twice, thats one thing ive learned the hard way. Dont skimp on anything thats expensive or difficult to get to and swap out. I bought a cheap clutch, guess what im doing this saturday? LOL. You do get what you pay for in this game. If you want an hx52 or 40 or a huge pte, just do it now and go real easy on the motor for 1k miles. Plenty of oil changes. You need all supporting mods though, dont run this without link and some good tuning.
You could maybe use the godspeed for breakin, but ive heard too many horror stories.

good luck i wouldnt suggest using the turbo ive used godspeed for minor things such as a j-pipe and the product was terrible you can try porting it but i would buy a rebuild kit for it now before it blows cause its going to good luck with it though i only use ebay brand turbos as a backup cause theyre cheap but will work for a "temporary" one check over everything when you open it too all the bolts make sure theyre tight and no shaft play and make sure you prime the turbo before starting the car put a few drips of oil inti the turbo itself when you install it then before starting the car unhook the fuel pump and turn over the car to get the turbine housing full of oil and that should help you out some

where are you feeding your oil source from the head or the OFH?

also ill go check a few local junk yards for you theres a few 92's in there and ill see what i can find but keep looking
