Need some help please! My 97 Talon ESI Is been having some problems. I recently replaced all gaskets and seals. After this we timed it perfect, after it was oiled up I took it for a ride. It had way more mad compression and ran like a champ. Now I was embarrassed taking out tonight that I had to park it and ride
with a friend.

Okay my problem with it that it stills smoke? It feels like it wants to die and throttle response is off. I come to a stop and I literally have to floor it to take off. It gasp for air or gas?

Please help all of this is making me frustrated.

Any CEL's? If not I'd still go to an autoparts store and have it scanned for any still on the ecu.

First day I got the car it showed up as a air valve or something wasn't too sure but it was a $200 part so I didn't have the cash to get it right away. I remembered doing the gasket that this vacuum line broke.

Awesome. Vacuum lines will kill you. I've spent 9 hours and $150 on a work night for a damn vacuum line. So have you figured it out? if not, check fuel pump, throttle body cable, Check for oil leaks, coolant leaking into combustion, check a/f ratios, etc... What color is the smoke?

If you blow constant white smoke from your exhaust then you have oil getting into your exhaust.

It's a white smoke and no we checked for leaks and it all came up fine. I'm taking it to autozone and getting a print out today. I put the hose from a home air conditioner and it fits snug where the vacuum line broke. I use plumbers tape so it couldn't leak. It still didn't' help.

Well if you are dumping white smoke then coolant is making it into your cylinder.

At the least it will be a bad headgasket, and hopefully that's it. That would also explain why your car is so sluggish.

Then from there it's possible that your head or block is cracked, but I would doubt that unless it seriously over heated on you at some point.

Never overheated. I did look around when we had the head off but the block looked like it was good,so did the head.

Well, it's quite possible that they weren't, how did you check them? Did you clean both surfaces before putting it back together, and I mean clean, like shiny silver clean?

You don't think you might have pinched a hose or something in between the head and block do you? I've seen it happen.

Either way, you're burning coolant so something is wrong.
