Don't know what happened today. I was driving to work, i shifted to 3rd gear and all of a sudden i hear a boom and my car dies out. I tried to start it, it cranks a couple of times but it wont start. No leaks, no loose belts or anything....what could it be?

That's what i assumed originally  Did something just give out, or is this a frequent occurrence with dsm's. I did my t-belt at 55k, and it has ran exceptional until this happened. So i guess i'm looking for a new head now

Before you call it a day adn assume your timing skipped, remove your tbelt cover and examine the belt. Check to see if its tore or worn. It may not be as bad as a beat head.

If you did skip timing you may need more then just a head depending how long you drove with it like that.

yea AMS is nearby. But anyways i pulled the cover off and the t-belt is still there and still tight. Motor cranks very easily, but i'm getting 0 compression. Any thoughts?

0 compression? Sounds like a blown head gasket to me.

Id take it over to AMS unless you can do it yourself.

My money's on bent valves. Let's start with... twenty? Anyone?

A blown head gasket will seldom give 0 psi all the way across.

Anyone who takes that bet is stupid... LOL

If you blew your headgasket you could have bent valves and if you jumped timing you probably also bent valves.

Basically your block and head could both be rooked depending how long it was running for and what not.

Was it running hot at all before that happened? If so the same thing happened to me. Everyone said I blew my head gasket. I tore it apart and everything was fine. Ended up that my water cooled oil filter housing screwed me. The water line inside broke, mixed in with my oil, and tore all of the rod bearings out. Sucks, getting it rebuilt good now though. :thumb: Just a suggestion!
