i took out my 92 talon awd out for a quick drive around the block and then i came and parked it back. 3 days after that i went to start it and it would turn over but would not start. i tryed to start it till the battery died. i did a comprsion test and im getting good compresion..i changed the spark plugs...cheked the ecu for any kinks or things like that. can anyone try to give me some ideas?? thnx:cry:

Try Checking the Coolent temp sensor, My car did something like this when it was unplugged. Maybe yours is bad, Without it the car CPU thinks its -32 Degrees and will make it REAL hard to start and run. This also may be why the Temp guage is flakey and giving a bad reading.

YES and there is also a ECU ground that causes this alot on my 1g as well and its simple.

There is a way to check them you put them in a dish of hot water then cold water then check them.

but check the basics first Please :thumb:

Have you checked to see if your getting a signal to your coil? No signal makes this a likely case for a cam or crank sensor. Its difficult to test the cam sensor being that it only works when the engine is running. Check the harness to the sensor and to the coil pack.

Give me details on how you did it.

I could be wrong, but when i was having issues with my ignition. we pulled out a spark plug put the wire on it, held it wtih some plyers and grounded it out to the frame. We then made sure you could see the spark on each plug.

just make sure you pull the fuse for the injectors so they dont fire.

my friend was the one using the volt meter...i was starting the car...we first cheked the plugs..we took out the sparkplug and layed it down on the head..then ill try to start it and nothin...not a spark..so then he cheked it with the volt meter, and nothin no current.

You've got to make sure you ground the threaded part of the spark plug. We touched it to the engine mount.

hey guys after a long time of having the car sit around i had it looked at by mike rizzotti (hes been racing talons for 11 years) and he found out that it was the ecu all along. thnks for the help.
