Boost leak.

Agreed boost leak test is key, after any engine work especially a engine swap. but I think we need to know a lot more information from you, what exactly is the car doing? What RPM is it idling at, where is your biss adjusted? Does it smooth out after you give it more gas, just something simple to consider is did you hook up the spark plug wires correctly what is your current firing order as you look at the car. What is the gap on the plugs? Pretty much we need more info from you to be able to help you better.

Is your MAF connected? I forgot to plug the connector back in once.... Car sounded terrible and barely ran (surprise surprise).

Other than that check boost leaks as said, check plugs and wires (firing order too).

If not then post back with what you have done and what else is happening.

maybe bad gas.. If it wont spool at all and it sounds like a lawn mower than its more than likely a boost leak.. Just do a boost leak test, and that will rule out that possibility.. And even if its not that, then you at least you got rid of any existing leaks..

If it won't spool and sounds like a lawn mower, then it's likely a preturbo exhaust leak not boost leak. Still run a boost leak test. A lawn mower motor noise and/or an exhaust leak should not be related to it not idling. But a boost leak can be.

my car has been sitting in my garage for almost a year so i finally got it running which is good but it sounds like shit i really hope to get this thing on the road i think ive waited long enough ill try to get fressh gas and i need to build the boost leak test because i dont have one. ill get back to you guys and post pics thanks for your guys time to write back to me. this car means alot to me and my 5yr old son

car sounds a bit better but buddy is telling me to change my timming thats why it sounds like shit. what do u think?

timing marks do not line up straight across at the four points but are stright across the cams bolt and the the top of the block.

You're gonna have to pull the lower timing cover and make sure the crank sprocket is lined up correctly. Those cam timing marks seem a little bit off. As far as the noise, it sounds like you have an exhaust leak.

Those timing Marks look good to me, but you still have to pull the lower timing cover and make sure the crank is lined up too.

Have you done a boost leak test yet? Its real easy to forget to tighten a coupler.

Also Check the exhaust and intake manifolds for leaks like the other guys said.
