Hey guys, remember when you do a project like this, it has its ebbs and flows. Sometimes you have set-backs that need to be addressed. Sometimes those set-backs make you fall back and address something else. Just because a shop is doing this, does not mean that they do not have the same problem.

Its all part of the process.

Thank you Bullett.

Alot of the non car related material in this thread was removed along time ago.

Hey zero, what Drag classes are you going to be competing in again, and how far do you plan on traveling for events?

I plan on running NHRA/NOPI Sport FWD but since nopi bought the nhra sport compact car series i dont know if it will get remaned basicly any heads up sportman class that is near by.

I will defenitly go to The Strip in Vegas, RMR in Utah, and TX also. I might be able to make it to Firebird raceway in phoniex and Pamona in CA.....I would love to be able to go to Norwalk in ohio, that is probley as far as ill go

I hope i'll be pretty competative in my class i keep hearing rumors about the class being limited to a 68mm inducer turbo....which in my chase would be great because that would get ride of all the hondas running 42r's

That's exactly right, between machine shops, the holidays, changes in plans, delayed parts, and even revisions to existing parts all of them have sent this project way off schedule. Zero's car is a monumental project (stock to crazy nasty SFWD car) and on the way to making his goals we have had to custom fabricate more parts than we have had to for any other SFWD race car (typically Hondas). As we find weak links, like the crank trigger/harmonic damper, we expand our tasks to eliminate them so the complete system is improved. Something I think/believe every paying customer is really looking for. That said, we are constantly pushing for this car to be finished. Zero is obviously busy with his new job so updates may not come as often, but now that I've finally found this thread I will try and post pictures as developments happen; for him.
On the fiberglass panel subject, it is illegal to run anything but factory body panels and interior panels for the class this car is intended to run in. Rear seats are the only interior pieces that may be removed in the passenger cabin and the trunk area (or hatch area in this case) may be completely stripped.
Mods, I hope my presence will not be obtrusive; hopefully a benefit. Please contact me at the provided email if you have ANY questions or concerns.

Dan

Dan, no intrusion that I can see. If you're lurking on this thread, you may be able to answer some of the more intricate questions. I certainly welcome your presence.

I will refrain from asking my multitude of questions and I suspect that many will want to come on ask. Kudos on the nice looking, professional work.

Welcome to the site Dan. I'm going to be moving to your area of CO here in the very near future so I will have to stop by your shop. Car looks like an awesome project.

On a serious note judging by how strict his class is about interior panels I bet it's illegal to use either spray or two power adders. If not maybe it's just on his LONGGGGG to do list.

I can use two power adders in the class but i would have too add another 100 pounds to the car.

I want too see how heavy the car is when its done if it less than 2500 pounds I will just be on boost alone...If it weighs more than 2500 pounds ill add the nitrous just cause.

Closed... again...

Only technical questions are to be asked: no off-topic comments, business propositions or miscellaneous banter.

Nice stuff Zero!

But why did they leave the exhaust shielding in there? Couple a few pounds of needless weight.

All those super uber hardcore 2gnters on 2gnt.com must be shitting themselves. LOL.
I think that exhaust manifold is the most beautiful part of your car.
Car looks good man. Still curious to see the numbers you put down. Is the passenger seat required for the class? My local track (most others around here)usually let you pull that passenger side seat out...

Oh and f**k the exhaust going all the way to the back cut that thing short and have it stick out the passenger side fender. Quicker spool and less weight. I'm dead serious.

Is the turbo oil drain line at enough of an incline so that oil is exiting the turbo freely? I plan on fabricating a bumper mounted turbo with in a couple of months and was wondering if I would need a pump on the oil drain line to help scavange the oil into the pan.

Beautiful, can't wait to see this thing buttoned up and some numbers on the dyno.

The car was soupose to start on saturday but that didnt happen it should start up here very soon all that is left is some more wiring and battery locataion and its done it will start next week and dyno too

i haven't posted any pics over there on 2gnt yet but tell them to come over here and check it out LOL. BUT yes my class dose require both matching driver and passenger seats. and it requires a rear axle exit muffled exhaust too...or i would have done the side exit. My class this year has changed from Sport FWD to TURBO STREET..

Yes it is at enough of an incline the oil pan is pretty big with the kick outs so it hold alot of oil.

hey zero.. i've been reading about this build and WOW! looks awesome man. lets us know when you get that thing on the dyno. i also was curious of why you painted the inside of the car and then covered it with the carpent and interior panels. but props on this looks sick.
