I've been researching but can't seem to find an exact answer. I need a rev limiter while driving, not just launching. For example instead of having to worry about going over 7k, I'd like to set a limiter at say, 5500 rpm. So while driving daily, no matter what it won't rev past 5500. And other than that keep it all factory. Is this possible with the DIS 2? I know I can't lower the factory limiter since our ECU's aren't tunable. Any help here?

why would you want to?
the DIS2 wont limit you, it will, but it yields to the OEM timing to.. so it wouldnt help IMO.

For reference purposes. Is there any other module that would allow this without going full MS?

Ah! I apologize I missed the fact that you were a 420A. Yes, ignore me. :p

Thanks guys I guess the MSD unit is no bueno. Has anyone tried the Bee*r? Some guy on here tried to get it wired up but couldn't find the ignition wire on the ECU since there's more than one.

You can limit your rpms with a msd dis 2. I had one on my eclipse and it worked just fine. All you do is turn a dial and thats it (after it is all wired up that is).

^ Are you sure.. The rev limit is there for over rev Im not sure its going to do what he wants thought. not sure he really knows why he needs it.. but. a 2 step function would work just as well i guess. Reading thru the MSD stuff, iirc, it said the rev limiter yields to the OEM one.

i must have interpreted that wrong: "There are two adjustable Rev Limits, a Max Limit and a 2-Step. The Max Limit will protect your engine
in the event of driveline failure or missed shifts. This Max Limit DOES NOT override the limit set by
the factory ECU" So yes MSD DIS can limit rev, but not above what factory is.
Why again.. still cant wrap my head around it? IMO msd dis 2 is over kill for what your doing.

It says that the max limit is programmable via computer. I'm not trying to limit it above factory limit, but rather below. And I'm looking for that cool popping sound because I'm a ricer.

Are these water proof? Is it safe to mount them in the engine bay without worry?
