I installed the dis-2 (programmable) in my car, but the box doesn't get power. I checked all the wiring and I can't seem to figure out what's wrong. There's a red wire that goes to switched 12v, and I think it MAY be the source of the issue. I have it wired into the cigarette lighter, and when I turn the key the LED on the box doesn't light up. However, when I turn the key to start the engine the LED turns on for about a quarter of a second. What can be wrong here? Is there a better place to connect the switched 12v wire, such as the actual ignition source itself?

*Edit*

So after searching through the MSD tech forums, it's highly possible that my problem is that I need the switched 12v power to be ON when cranking. Apparently wiring it to the cigarette lighter is no good. Anyone know where I can wire it where it'll get power when the key is turned, and hold that power while cranking?

Thanks.

So the MSD unit isn't broken, everything is functioning correctly, but I'm still having an issue with it not wanting to power on. I hooked up a switch to the battery, and then to the MSD switched 12v wire, and I can verify that it's getting power.

The positive and negative wires are hooked up directly to the terminals on the battery, all the wires soldered or crimped together and heat shrinked properly following the schematic. Tach adapter wired in and grounded also. Coil pack is plugged in correctly with the corresponding wires and the coil pack harness is also done according to the instructions.

When I flip the switch, and turn the key, the LED yet again doesn't light up, and when I crank the car it doesn't flash or anything. No power at all coming out of the unit. I've been going over the wiring and instructions dozens of times the past week and I can't pin the problem. When I flip off the switch that controls the switched 12v wire, the LED on the unit flashes once real quickly, and won't flash again until I flip the switch on then off again. :hmm:

Also, the part # is 6212, it's the programmable MSD DIS-2 unit.
