MR2 Spyder Pre-Cat issues

Please I'm not really used to this model and I'm expext to advice a friend on it, what can I lead with?

I’m going to assume you’re speaking of Toyota’s since you said MR2, and if that’s the case you’d be best to ask a Toyota forum.

Pre-cats are a big issue if you don’t take the time to check them out regularly after purchase. Some can last hundreds of thousands of miles without problem..
You should check if it’s still in good condition by taking off the two O2 sensors on the manifold

@Alexg0d Risk of damage seems to be limited to the earlier models, but I don't know what the cutoff is or even if there was a hard cutoff. My 2003 still has the original manifold and pre-cats and is at 227,000 miles so I tend to view the panic as overblown, but I don't have any experience with the pre-facelift models.
