Ok just thought id post this up on how i mounted my fpr

first i bought two L shaped Brackets

then i mounted one onto the bulkhead using the brake fluid reservoir and fpr vacuum solenoid bolt holes

then i bolted the second bracket to the fpr

then i bolted the bracket that holds the fpr to the one on the bulkhead.

You may have noticed that the bracket that holds the fpr is now longer thats because the original one was too small and had the fpr rub up against the brake fluid reservoir, i also sanded it to bear metal as im going for the black and silver look.
Hope this helps someone

Looks good. Seems like it takes up alot of room and time bolting things together. Why not just bend a S or U shape bracket and be done with it?

looks good but i thought they came with a setup, or did you get it used, good info by the way.

If it's not stainless, I would hit with a few coats of clearcoat. Make sure your fingerprints aren't on it beforehand. Brake parts cleaner -> dry -> clearcoat.

I was in my local hard wear store and just seen the brackets and had the idea, Also It would be harder to bolt a u shaped peace of metal to the fire wall and then bolt the fpr to that. The good thing about this is that all the tricky bolting can be done on two separate pieces and then bolt them together at the top where its easier to reach. Oh and if bolting two brackets together is hard work for you maybe a shop could do it for ya of maybe you have a friend thats good with metal.:D

also to answer a few more questions yes im going to clear coat it before im done, as you may have noticed its not connected up yet as this is my dd and im going to wait till i get a few days off work just to make room for error, then ill do all the final fitting and clear coating and what not then.

also it only comes with a small bracket and its not that big and does not clear anything, hence the brackets

Nope not hard at all bolting two things together. Which is why I bent my own bracket and asked you why you didn't. It's just a waste of time bolting two things seperatly then bolting them together. If you don't know how to bend your own bracket then it's fine to use 2 L brackets and 5 little bolts. Learn how to weld or do something "custom" and then post it in the fab section. I don't see much fab work here with store bought brackets.

Hey 95GreenGSX did not mean what i said so i take it back so my Apologies.:)
My thinking for the two brackets was ease of removal if i need to for bigger fuel lines and such in the future.

If you actually go with an SMIM in the future, you'll open up room in the middle of the firewall. There are two holes where the EGR used to be and they pretty much match up to the holes in the bracket. You will need to open them up a bit to have the bolts fit though. 80% of DSMers realize this after they get rid of the stock manifold.

Hey thanks for the advice people, I'm learning there's a few things that I can start to get rid of as my tuning progresses.
The main reason I done this was I just seen them in the hardware store and went with it and they allow for easy access and yes now you mention it they do look like hinges LOL, there painted black now by the way and hey they do the job
:hellyeah:

Oh yeah that brake fluid res bracket does look bad, Oh well on the list of things to do it goes
