I have been reading up on motor mount inserts and I have read numerous times that you can’t install inserts if the front mount is cracked. From my understanding, I thought that the inserts replace the OEM rubber and utilize the OEM housing. So why would it matter if the original rubber is cracked?
 
Depends on the kit. The Energy Suspension kit shown here has inserts that fit into the original rubber mount to stiffen it up rather than replace the original rubber. If the original mount is broken, those inserts aren’t going to do much good.
Okay, that makes sense. I’m looking at the programs ones and I believe they are an entire replacement for the original rubber
