Ok. I got the tough part done, all the old inserts are out. I got the rear, driver side, and passenger side assembled and ready to go. This may be a dumb question, but is the front one just suppose to lay in there? It fits in with no problem but it wiggles in place. Can someone shed some light on this problem for me? Thanks a lot.

Oh, not sure if it matters, but the brand is prothane.

2g? 1g? Dang I should have looked before I went to reply to this. On a 2g the hole is bigger than the bolt. I don't know why. I didn't like it so I drilled a hole in the centerof an aluminum dowel to minimize the freeplay.

Sorry, should have been more specific. It is a 1g and it's not the mount itself that wiggles, it is the insert wiggling in the mount. If I hold the mount sideways and wiggle the insert has enough room to fall out. trying to figure out if that is normal... Thanks.

i have the same mounts for a 91 also. and no it should not wiggle. its a one piece insert thats actually a mother to push in. i had to use a press. u might have the wrong one. now the bolt that goes tru the insert that wiggles alot

He didn't necessarily get the wrong ones. They make both the full press in motor mounts (like the factory mounts) and they also make the inserts, the one's that just lay over your old worn out mount, and cover up the one still in there.

Which one are you actually talking about? Insert, or the press in ones.

Prothane only makes an insert for the front motor mount in a 1G. The rear, transmission, and timing belt mounts are total replacements.

The front insert should be fairly snug unless your stock front motor mount is really worn/jacked up. What kind of shape is your stock mount in?

I got prothanes in my 1g and my front mount is a solid press in type. I think they used to be just inserts but changed over.

To the OP, no it should not wiggle around regardless; is it a press in or just insert?

My Prothane front motor mount is a solid press in piece. It does not have any play or wobble to it.

OP is your Prothane mount an insert or a solid press in piece?

The rear, passenger side, and driver side were all two piece inserts, the front is a one piece. I'm really confused on this one. I checked the part number and it is the right mount. Give me a few and I will try to post a good pic. Thank you for all the feedback thus far.

Here are pics. I checked the part number again, it is correct, it is 13-505-bl. The first pic is the insert itself, the second is the mount which doesn't look to be out of the ordinary, and the third is the gap in between the two. I'm not sure if I should be hunting down a mount or insert at this point, any suggestions? Thanks.

yeah, the one that goes in there should be snug, and pressed in. Looks like the wrong mount, even if the part # matches up.

I had to take mine into a shop to get them pressed in.
