Hey guys Im really thinkin about goin eprom! I really dont know what the hell im doing with the safcROFL and I dont want to blow a really good motor! I was going to have the eprom programed to take the 550cc/2g maf combo. Is it safe to say I would no longer need a safc or logger for that mattter
thanks

When I installed my DSMlink (sort of close to what you're wanting to do), I had to get rid of the SAFC because it kept overriding the EPROM chip. I've read that you can just zero out the sliders on the SAFC, but that didn't work for me.

i personally would keep the safc as long as you dont have the problems as the person above. every car is different and if you can fine tune with the safc you will have a more efficient engine.

Yeah the safc is nice, I just dont want to do something wrong. If the eprom is as easy as just having it programed to take the 550cc/2g mas combo, you cant beat that. No worrying about tuning the sucker:rocks:

No, you still need to fine tune with the safc.

An AFC is NOT necessary with an EPROM ECU if the chip has custom parameters for A/F maps and timing built in. If you're using stock A/F and timing tables in the chip, then yes, you will need something to fine tune with. If you need help with custom chip settings, I'd be glad to work out a safe, yet powerful combination for you.

Great:rocks: Thats what I wanted to hear. Do you have a web site I can check out or something

Sure,

You can find the settings that I use here:

http://homepage.mac.com/andymoraitis/GSXarticle2.html

Some of yours will be and should be different than mine, but this will give you a ballpark on what can be done. When you're ready, you can drop me a line, we'll look at your mod list and then we'll come up with a combination for you. Once I send you specs, these go to Jeff Oberholtzer at DSM Chips. He can be contacted at [email protected] and will do the programming and burning for you.

Get in touch when you're all set,

Andy
