Modded Holset turbo's

Can someone explain why this is worth +$400? I'm not a turbo guru.

^You read it wrong, its $730+, that price was in british pounds. It doesn't look to be anything special, they mention billet wheel a couple times but no pics of the billet comp. wheels actually on teh turbo and the power numbers and spool numbers are well normal for reg. holsets.

I'd call and talk to them if u were considering it.

It's a knockoff.

I don't care what their site says- neither the compressor cover, center housing, and turbine housing have "Holset" on it anywhere. That's a bad sign.

No but when you read it ,they tell you that.

They are actually using a Garrett compressor cover and Garett hot side from what I believe the article on their website says. They tell you right here and it pertains to THIS particular turbo.

We didn't intend to build any hybrid turbos, but then we had an idea! Holset turbos are fantastic, but they are BIG, and a lot of the off the shelf turbine housings are too big for performance petrol applications. Garrett (and HKS) turbos in comparison we feel are not as good, BUT they are more compact and have more suitable housings on the whole.
So after a lot of messing, we have 4 (so far!) of the Comp-R RS50, with HX50 compressor (64mm inducer, 93mm exducer) and HX50 turbine wheels (86mm inducer, 72mm exducer), but in specially machined Garrett/HKS T04Z style housings that actually make it phystically a little smaller than even a HX35, depite being capable of around 700bhp!
With a HKS T04Z ported shroud inlet and aerodynamic compressor wheel 'bullet', twin scroll T4 turbine housing
, and v-band outlet, this turbo is, at this current introductory price, less than half the price of its direct rivals, making it in our opinion the best new turbo on the market for 2.5litre or bigger engines, as well as the Mazda 13B rotary engine, which works very well with this turbo due to the similar compressor and turbine wheel sizes, something most modern Garrett turbos lack due to them fitting miss-matched 'big compressor and small turbine' combos in a flawed attempt to create fast spooling units.

The rest of the units are in Holset parts.

Right, but when you click the eBay link for the RS35 which ALSO says it uses Holset parts, you're shown a giant pile of knockoff, which doesn't speak well for the hybrids they're selling.
