MMCD Timing and basetiming question

Hello.
Tried setting my base timing today and jumping around near five is the best we could do.

on the logger it sticks at 10 up or down 1 at idle

so 9 - 11 cycle % at idle.

timing jumpes to 40 odd while accelerating.
any ideas?

Did you forget to ground the plug right behind the battery on the firewall? If you dont the computer will be trying to adjust the timing while you are moving the cas which will cause it to jump around.

Did you remember to disconnect your logger cable from the DLC when trying to set the timing?

mmmmmmm.... interresting.
i had the cable still hooked in. dammit!
so looks like i have to reset timing.
