Newbie to MMcd 1.8d,base timing ?

I am currently using a scanmaster to datalog w/Palm OS emulator running MMcD 1.8d.
Do i need to unglug it to set the base timing and ground the ignition timing terminal?
Or can i leave it plugged in and set the base timing on the MMcd Preferences page?

You have to unplug the scanmaster from the the cars DLC connector to set the base timing.
Grounding both the check timing connector and the mode pin on the DLC will put you into set BISS mode.

It's to tell MMCd what you are really running so it corrects it's display output.

I have the base timing at 8* BTDC to assist in compensating for the cams,
Using the mmcd timing function will ensure the timing is sync'd correct?

No it won't do anything to the car. It's there so you don't have to add 3* to all the displayed values in your head when you look at the numbers.
