I was out cruising around in my 95 Talon TSi last night with some guys and one of them with a first gen GSX wanted to look under the hood, so I popped it for him. After looking at the engine for a minute, he gave me kind of a confused look and informed me that my cam angle sensor was missing. He then showed me his engine, and sure enough, there is no sign of it on my car, just a hole on the side of the head. I tried to search for more information, and what I gathered is that this sensor just sets the base timing for the engine. Is it bad for my car to run without this sensor, or will it be fine as long as the timing is set correctly already? The car seems to run fine now, but I am not that mechanically inclined, so I wouldn't know what to look for if something small was wrong, like having the timing off a few degrees.
