Mishimoto xline and stock fan setup

I've been searching and can't seem to find the answer that i need. I tried to acquier the info i need through another thread but was asked to get my own . I plan to use the Mishimoto x line radiator with stock fans. I know that clearance is a little tight but could i run this setup with a j pipe? I'm on a 14b, does anyone know if i could pull this off and if so is there a certain j pipe that will make this install easier? I'm also ordering a vrsf kit. I plan to upgrade my turbo in the future to something along the lines of a fp green but for the meantime i rocking the 14b

I caught that "nice request" as I was reading the thread too. If you are getting the VRSF kit, you will probably need their J pipe. I know yours is a '97 and mine is a '90 but the J pipe for mine is bent almost straight down and might pose a problem with the thickness of a stock fan, at least on the Drivers side. I am using to Ebay 12" pushers and they work OK but I added the Passenger side stock fan in its original position and wired it up to come on with a switch. That side will fit but the Drivers side will be a squeeze. See if you can get a look at a 2G J pipe from them. That will be the problem if there is any. My cheapo fans are ok but the 3rd fan made a big difference. I don't know if anyone else is using 3, but it is working for me. The pushers come on at the stock setting which I think I am going to change in LINK to a lower temp.
I have a Mitsumoto radiator also but its a 2 core. I run right around 200*.

Well from what I've been reading, it seems to be that a 2g j pipe has a much tighter curve than 1g. However, I believe the 3 row radiator comes in 1/2" wider at 2.5"
I would really like to run both stock fans. Hope it's possible with some modification.

Btw I forgot to add that this is for a 98 manual gsx. I just haven't added to my profile. Here's a list of the mods in case it matters

Looking at my engine bay picture, I don't know if I could run a stock fan on the Drivers side, that J pipe is just in the wrong spot with my short route VRSF FMIC, maybe your 2g will give a little more room. I agree that a 2 row and stock fans will probably work more efficient than cheap after market ones, that's why I mounted my stock one back on.

Yeah hoping someone with a similar setup will see this before I pull the trigger on these items. I think I'll email the vendors regarding this. Maybe they could be of some help.

I am in the middle of installing my x-line radiator and have the fsn shroud with mishimoto's slim fans. I will take a picture tomorrow and post it showing how much room there is. The only really tight spot is my lower intercooler pipe which I might try to position a bit lower. I also plan on wiring both fans together.

I have an xline but am using a mishimoto fan and shroud setup. I have to place my driver fan inside the shroud and modify it to run my fmic j-pipe with I was running my 16g. Don't see it working with the much larger stock fans.

I plan to road race this car maybe two, three times a year. Other than that this is a toy that will be used on the weekends. I trying to keep this car fully functional.... meaning a/c and everything must work.

You'd benefit from the larger radiator at the track, but the stock fans are better than slim fans for the street. I'd say slim fans with a shroud and the thicker radiator would be good for the street if they fit. If I still drove my track car on the street that's what I'd run. My second option would be the stock sized aluminum radiator with the stock fans. Either way, put some effort into the ducting to ensure all the air is forced through the FMIC and radiator, and strongly consider running a hood vent.
