Just wanna See how good it can look. Having issues finding someone to finish my exhaust without having a very expensive, very incompetent shop finish it. So I might just pickup some stainless wire and tug the car to my neighbors house.

You know you need a tri mix gas too right?
How about stainless rods and stick weld it?

I welded mild steel tube to my old stainless steel o2 housing no problem LOL argosheild universal and standard steel wire. I didn't know you couldn't?

Stick weld would be just as easy as TIG. I have access to a MIG, Wire Feed, with Tri Gas, Nothing more. Unless I can tow my car a very long distance.

The pictures I've seen of Stainless MIG Welding looks horrible :( I'm upset about my exhaust going to look bad. I got all this beautiful stainless steel piping with the expectation I could TIG up a nice exhaust. Because I was told I could use a friends TIG, and then having them tell me they decided against letting anyone else use their welder.

I don't know what else to do besides MIG, need some motivation and idea's to get some good beads.

MIG welding stainless is not as nice looking as TIG and it just looks like normal MIG weld! If you want to look good then use a machine that has double pulse function then it can slope and act like a TIG welder! I have used it before but it does not hold as much strength as a single pulse or no pulse at all

I was told I could use a friends TIG, and then having them tell me they decided against letting anyone else use their welder.

That sucks about them saying you cannot use their TIG machine! Your not going to see the MIG welds so I would not worry as if your not good at TIG it will look just as messy as MIG anyway, I say MIG it.

Here's the first half I did with someone's TIG. Not perfect but I was proud of it. I know I wont see it but I'm really.... picky. IDK Why but I would know and it would bug the hell out of me. Esp since I spent the money for the nice stainless 3" pipe because my neighbor said I could use his TIG. I was just gonna get some Mild Steel and paint it.

Thx.

Not knowing much about welding, last time i went to the local welding store. I tried to refill my tri-gas bottle and told her i was doing stainless, she made me buy a 100% argon and said that i needed to use that instead. (mig)

She was probably new because 100% argon is for tig.
