The 16G record is 11.39, in a gutted tin can (albiet on a sidemount). The record before that was in the 11.7x range. QUOTE]

This was done by Josh Forbing but the car was far from being a gutted tin can. The car had the usual weight reductions (AC, bumpers, CF hood), but it had a full interior in place with lightweight racing seats and a roll cage. He is a great driver/car builder to run such times and I am sure you will hear of his name in the future.

Ok so I might rethink my list of upgrades. I just want a motor that will hold up for a good amount of time with a good amount of domestic killing. I know several people that like andre and Jr, but I have heard from several people sayin how shady they are. I will not take my car to them for any kind of service or dyno time. NOSLO, thanks for all your input.

Andrei and Jr are shady? They have been nothing but helpfull for me and everyone else i've talked to...But you'll take your motor to someone as "reputable" as Wayne Saunders to have it rebuilt? :tease:

You can say whatever you want about wayne. He built my engine almost 2 years ago and it's still running strong. Can you say the same about a engine able racing had put together? Have you seen the work andre and jr do?? They have some of the poorest quality installs in the okc area. And they jerry rig everything. I don't know about you but when I open my hood, I want to be proud of the way it looks. Do you have anything good to say about the personally? Have they did any real work on your own car? The only thing good I've heard it that they have a 10 sec street car. This is the same thing I ran into when I said that on okspeed, everyone was jumping down my throat. I will retract my statment as soon as I see some nice work and installs come out of their shop, and not trying to screw dsm noobies when they come for some work on their ride.

Also if you have nothing to add to my post on topic, please don't post .

It's looking better every time I go to FP's website. I'm keepin my eye peeled for a used one. But I still wanna stay with the internally gated one. FP's website says going external is somewhat only for fine tuning low boost.

Why haven't you looked at a gt30r yet? More efficient, more flow, ball bearing, internal gate available, same price or less than a green. It's basically a fp3052 without FP's fancy (that means expensive) housing.

I dunno. I checked and the cheapest I found the gt30r was like $1299 plus $125 for the wg. I have found a used 20g w/ 7k miles for $400. I think I've found a winner.

ok sooo im confused this car is going to be your daily driver yet your making it a mid 11 sec car, how fast is the 240 going to be?

I think they will both be my daily driver. I have the 240 for its look and being just a nice car, just needs to be faster, like high 13's is fine. The dsm will be my daily a few days a week. I just need something reliable and able to walk on vettes and cobras. Plus the dsm is cheaper to make fast compared to the nissan. Plus I need a car for the winter time. 240 gets owned in the snow. I guess I'm just a jackass, but I want two quick cars. Plus I alway wanted to boost my 240.

That's a good price. Hallman went 11.96 @ 114 on his 20g with stock sidemount and stock 450 injectors, he later improved that to 11.54 @ 120 with 550 injectors. So I mean up to you, possible to make it a fast car for not much money if you look at it this way. An FP green is nice, but for a used price and the fact it is a tried and true turbo you can't really go wrong.

What about full garret, not tried and true?

No I never said that, but for 400 dollars that is a hell of a deal for a turbo we know could possibly do 10's. That was my only point to the poster, there are plenty of tried and true turbos but he listed the 20g at a good price, that most people would jump on.

you should be able to accomplish your goals with the 20g. iv got modified 20g on my laser, and although there are still several issues i need to resolve, its seen mid 11s on 28 psi and race gas. once i get my external gate on it(huge boost creep issues with the internal gate), and fix the airflow problems in the intercooler piping (got another one with short route piping thats going on the car), it should see low 11s on that boost (or possibly high 11s on lower boost and pump gas, the boost creep with the internal gate goes too high for me to run it on pump currently).
but id estimate iv got around 400+ lbs of weight reduction, no heat, no ac, no inerior, bumpers replaced with lightweight pieces(the actual heavy metal bumpers behinde the bumper covers), and well over a hundred lbs of metal cut out of the car. it would be a complete death trap if it werent for the roll cage.
