Is there a way to check the numbers on a turbo to check their authenticity?
I have a 20g at my house which has the mitsubishi emblems on the housings but I was just curious

Type the numbers you have in the search bar and you will get an answer. There's also a thread for "what turbo is this" out there also. Post a picture.

49178-05400 - td05h -20g
49179-05400 - td06h -20g

But so much is interchangeable nowadays the only way to truely know, is to measure the wheels.

Fixed.

All 20G's with the 2.5" inlet will have the TD06 #49179-54900 cast into the cover....if it has a TD05H turbine and Mitsubishi made it that way, it will also have 49178-04600 stamped on the flat portion of the cover.
