i wanted to let everyone know that the evo3 16g that quickwhips.com is listing for sale is not an authentic mhi turbo. i posted here since we are not allowed to post in the vendor sales area. turbochargers.com has it for $459 + shipping.

I thought the one's they were offering for 459$ were MHI 16g turbo's and the one for $499 was the GT non-MHI 16g. So what exactly is the quickwhips one that they're selling in the group buy?

that is correct, on turbochargers.com the real mhi 16g is $459 and the gt is $499. the one quickwhips is selling is a gt. they advertise the same picture that ssautochrome uses. they have posted on dsmtalk that it is probably the same turbo that ssautochrome sells. they posted that it is made in china.

p.s. has anyone purchased from turbochargers.com. i would like to make sure before i purchase

Edwin, are you buying the genuine mhi 16g?? please don't buy any turbo that is not either mhi or a reputable turbo shops turbo. So when are we going to install this thing?

FYI, the turbochargers.com EVO III 16g GT has proven itself more than capable as of late. Tom Noonen took his GT equipped galant VR4 to 11.4 after running 11.5 on an evo iii mhi and then switched to the gt after the mhi unit locked up on him.

There are three evo III's. The MHI, the turbochargers.com gt, and the ss autochrome version.

The first two have proven themselves so far, there are no reports of the tchargers gt failing in mass, and hell they put a 1 year no questions asked warranty on them that the've backed up so far on the few cases of failure. Hell even the MHI ones don't have a warranty like that on them. The SS Autochrome versions are the chinese bullshit versions. Stay far, far away from anything they build.

On our website are the real MHI Turbos, the one in the group buy is a China Made turbo

we sell both

both with different pricing

thanks

It sure is good to see that you specify that somewhere. I see that you carry SSAutoShit products per this,

I'll be passing on ever purchasing anything from you.

one of the 3/S guys runs the twin e16g SS autochrome version .. he just went 142mph in the 1/4 in his FWD vr-4 (it's light) he said he was seeing 30-34psi with it. that's a trap speed record for us currently and he hasn't had a problem with it.

It's not a concern of making power.

Why anyone would want to save roughly 50 dollars and get one of these over an actual Mitsu unit is beyond me. The mitsu unit is amazingly reliable and cost near the same.

I cannot believe "quickwhips" didn't even hint anywhere in their listing that they were not MHI units.

Maybe SS Autochrome started using the better turbos as well then. The GT's are good turbo's from my experience and research. I've never once seen any failure on one that I've not seen before from the MHI unites as well. SBR made a lot of noise about these things when they first came out, hell I made alot of noise trying to find the truth, and now that they've been on people's cars it seems to be that the truth is this: these turbos are fine, and in no way seem to be any worse than the MHI units and in some ways may even be better.

we did tell people it was not a real MHI, no worries we are no longer going to sell this turbo
