There are three bigger brands I know of. AEM, Snow, and DevilsOwn. You can research more from there in what suits your needs. I am getting the DevilsOwn kit. They have one specifically for dsms.
Well when I ran meth back in the day on my 50trim, it worked like it was sapose, real small power gains but didn't really seem all that nessacary. But my honest opinion you can live without it, I wouldn't worry about it to much unless u making alot more power, I would spend your money more on something else like ecmlink. Also i think meth kits are about $300. Here is a direct qoute from AEM.
1.Lowers Inlet Temps, Decreases Chance of Detonation
2.Run More Boost and Timing
3.Depending on Your Vehicle Add 15-20% HP, 20-25% More Torque!
I have had good luck with my Devil's Own kit. I have had it on my car for around two years and haven't had a failure or any issues. I ran straight methanol, 50/50 meth/water, straight water, and windshield washer fluid. I would recommend it. I feel that it definitely gives you a safety margin while tuning.
Which kit is it, is it the stage 2 with the map sensor
Im not sure of the best brands, but I have heard some bad things about water injection. water+metal=oxidation? I had a friend that ran water injection and he ended up with rust in his cylinders? not sure if this is common, just something you might wanna look into!
Yes. It was the DSM Stage 2 w/ MAP sensor and progressive controller. I just checked my receipts and it was $450.00 with a tank and a float switch in February of 2008.
I haven't torn my engine down since running methanol injection, so I can't comment on the condition of the internals. I have notice a little bit of surface rust on the inside of my steel intercooler piping by the throttle body where it sprays and there is a little bit of corossion on the throttle body blade. I just clean it occasionally and it hasn't given me any problems yet. I can't see how anything could get rusty inside the cylinder unless you just sprayed a ton and shut it down and let it sit for a long time. I'll have to take my head off one of these years and have a look in there.
That's the kit I'm gonna buy,I don't like this talk about corrosion and rust in the heads, but I herd about the meth doing it to the metal I'ma ask about it and look into it but I still wanna perchase it.
