I am writing up this short review in regards to the Megan Racing Coilovers because, well frankly, there are not very many good reviews (that I could find easily, or with reliable information from actual users of this setup) that are out there.
Firstly, I dropped my Talon (AWD) off on Wednesday and I had the Coilovers and a few other items taken care of. I have to drop off the car again in two weeks to have the rest of the parts (that are still in the mail) installed; the RMDSM Swaybars (front/rear) with new endlinks and Prothane bushings all around, so this review outlines what changes there are with just an install of the coilovers from stock.
I picked up the car today and I immediately noticed that the car was lower by almost 1 1/2" ... maybe slightly more. As for the alignment, it is pretty neutral (though the camber is slightly negative) so I will need to get an alignment soon. As for first impressions on the ride I noticed that the car handles WAY better than it did before. The ride is VERY stiff on the first setting (when pushing down on the car from the outside it does not budge at all). On the mid-range settings ~ 8-10 it feels very pliant with the road and it also handles much tighter than I would have imagined it would. As for launching, it crouches marginally if at all from the rear allowing for a much better grip on the road. In regards to stopping it definitely stops the car with much more control over that of the stock setup (probably due to the lack of slop in the suspension) as well. Overall I must say that I would very much recommend these coilovers to anybody looking for a nice, rather inexpensive upgrade. As a side note I have driven other dsm's with Tein basics before and this feels very, very similar.
As for the other suspension work I am having done in the coming weeks I will update this thread on those items as well if there is any interest.
