So i had recently purchased a Megan 3" downpipe and cat-back exhaust system...had some SERIOUS trouble mounting it up and started reading all the horror stories AFTER i bought the thing of course :banghead:Now ive decided im going to just fabricate and make it fit one way or another. I was hoping to possibly get suggestions or and pictures to help me get this thing on correctly. Any help is appreciated thanks

I have a 1 gen awd, but the only problem I had was when I switched to a EVOIII o2 housing. The angle is slightly different than stock where it bolts up to the down pipe. Hacked the flange put it at a slight angle, welded it and has been fine ever since. Now I'm in the of modifying it to a 3" v-band. What exactly are you having trouble with mounting it up. The down pipe, mid pipe or cat-back piece?

The downpipe specifically...the O2 housing is at an angle to where my downpipe hits my oil pan before ever being mounted up...that and i havent even tried with the oil filter installed i think that is going to be a whole other issue.

Not OEM...ill post a picture not sure how much it will help but this is it...i was just hoping that someone had a picture of theirs installed so i knew what i was dealing with cus i have heard nothing but bad things about these now that ive bought it ohwell

Megan is terrible for fitment. The single biggest problem ive had so far with my dsm was getting the megan catback to fit. The flange was welded wrong on it, and I had to chop and re-weld the mounting arms to get it to fit. It still doesn't fit flush and hangs down. I couldn't be more disappointed with my experience. I have a stock oil pan as well. I've heard enough horror stories like mine to advise people to steer clear of their exhaust systems.

*shrug* I have a Megan downpipe on my 95 with an SRS exhaust, fits great. It does get a little close to the oil pan but it has enough clearance. Then again I do have a 6-bolt in mine so maybe that's why...

I never had an issue with a Megan downpipe on my 1g I ran a stock o2 housing with a 3" Megan downpipe, 3" Megan test pipe, and a 3" thermal r&d catback it sounded lovely
