Man trans to auto trans? Help

Ok This is probably a dumb question. I have a man 90 n/t talon and also a auto 94 n/t talon i was wondering if i could take the engine out of my 90 and put it into my 94. Will the tranny match up without major problems. I am doing this because im putting a engine that am going to be building soon into the 90. Thanks in advance.

it wont fit the bolts are totally different and it wont fit it needs a major job

If it is the 2.0L N/T, then the swap will be just fine. I can't remember if the n/t OFH & water pipechanges very much through out the 1g years. But even so, you can just keep the water pipe and OFH from the 1990 and put it into the 1994. Identical bolt paterns. A 4g63 is a 4g63, in the 1st generation.

Thanks alot i figured the bolt pattern would be the same since both engines were 4g63.i havent done alot with auto transmisions and i wanted to see what everyone thought.

Both 6 bolt cranks? They changed to a 7 bolt halfway through 94. If they are both 6 bolts, then you still need the steel spacer that goes on the back of the crank between the crank and flexplate. Not just the little steel rings on both sides of the flexplate, but there's actually a machined steel pilot ring that sits on the back of the crank.

Thanks alot guys i heard of this flexplate. There was a guy that i used to work on dsms with and he just left one of them off and it ended in him driving the car for about 30 mins and then it completely destroyed the whole tranny

You mean flexplate spacer, and yes, if it's left out, the front pump will be mangulated in short order.
