Auto to Manual Trans Possible?

Hey guys, I am looking at possibly buying a 98 GSX that is an automatic. The car has a messed up trans and it needs fixed. Now I currently have a 92 GSX and am wondering can I possibly swap the Manual Trans from my 1g into the 2g??? Either way I would want to swap that car over eventually so Im not sure what all I would need as well. I dont want to get too ahead of myself yet because I dont even know if the car is still availible yet, .

...the thread title is confusing too, A/T to M/T conversion V.S. 1G to 2G trans. swap are two different things.
