lloydminster,
I got parts ready to install in mt '90 talon AWD 4G63T. :shhh:

mugan intake
msd dis-2
fmic
duel valve springs w/ valves
750cc injectors
cam gears
stock cams and crank
barring and gasket set
timing belt
balance shaft eliminator kit
oil pump
eagle rods
je-pistons
and some other stuff :sneaky: :thumb:

dut i really need to know what the comperssion would or should be at.??
the je-pistons came at a higher comperssion that my stock pistions.

i just need to know what the comperssion should be at.

if more info is needed, let me know please. :sneaky:

You're building a turbo engine so compression is not much of an issue as it is with n/a engine. The lower the compression you run the more boost you should be able to run before hitting detonation. Most companies that make pistons for the 4g63 are between 7.5:1 to 10:1. Oh and I hope you have a few more tricks up your sleeve if you are planning on hitting 500 hp with the mods posted. :)

I would run the compression at 8.5:1. It's a very good compression status..
Okay this may be a dumb question, but if you bought pistons that are not the stock compression. You had to know what the compression was when you bought them.

"the je-pistons came at a higher comperssion that my stock pistions".

Okay what is the compression of the JE-pistons? Then we can go from there.
Also proper grammar would help.
J

Mugen intake is that a manifold or just the intake to the turbo? and SPELL CHECK! is a tool well worth trying before posting!!

SORRY for the spelling and grammer dudes

And yes it is a Mugen intake manifold. :thumb:

the stock pistons are at 7.8:1 and the pistons that I have got are at 8.5:1 compression.

And for the record, my friend and his wife have a '90 Lazer, running a Super 20G turbo and most of the mods that I'm running and the Numbers say 687WHP. If you don't people don't believe me call toll free @ 1 866 219 5427 in Edmonton Alberta in Canada. Call and ask for parts and talk to a dude named IMMI. He will tell you every thing. :sneaky:

Also I'm a 4th class Power Engineer. And what I've been told is that you increase compression, you increase temperature inside the combustion chamber. Won't that cause predestination?

You guys tell me what I need to make 500 HP, if I need more or different parts.
I would like to here what you dudes have to say, or info. about making 500 HP.

THANK YOU.

THANK YOU.

Yeah, maybe with A LOT of nitrous.

What's a 4th class Power Engineer WTF

Also, I would get some cams, FP2 or HKS.

What turbo are you running?
You'll need a fuel pump.
Some sort of management.

Also, 500 wheel or crank horsepower?

What is predestination? I've never heard of it. I also didn't realize mugen made an intake manifold for the 4g63, I thought it was all Honda shit.

I don't think the majority of people on here can tell you how to make 500 hp because most of us aren't there yet. It's a small engine, you have to run a #### load of boost and be able to support it to make that kind of power.

Do some searching around on here, some guys are making alot of power, you can learn alot from them.

500HP is not an unreasonable goal for a 4g63, and with the bottom end that you have it should be a problem of supporting it. With a 20G turbo you are going to have to run atleased 25lbs of boost. The biggest mod that you are going to need is a good engine management system, the factory stuff just won't do. A good comp. ratio fot 500HP is 8:5 or 9:1 depending on what kind of gas you can get. I guess the best way to do it is put it on the dyno, see what you got and work from there. Keep bumping the boost and fuel pressure up until you get EGT's that are too high...about 1400 degrees, mabey alittle more. The next thing you are going to have to do is camshafts... because you can only get so much air in and out passed the factory lift and duration, when you start to really get up there in horsepower cams will have a sugnificant change. If that doesn't get you to 500hp you goona need a bigger turbo GT35R is great for an all around big turbo especially if you are looking to get around 500hp, it'll do it no problem (with around 20-23 psi). Good luck!!!

Sorry it's a MANGNUS INTAKE MANIFOLD.
I'm running a 20G turbo
My friend is running a SUPER 20G turbo

And of corse that is what you get, especially with a 7 bolt engine. And what, running alot of nitrous without coating the pistons and valves. No wonder you had parts left on the ground. :tease: And with all that, it had 137k+miles. It was just waiting to POP. :tease:

YES I know I need stuff like, fuel pump and engine management and crap like that. I'm just saying what I have and what I'm shooting for.

Instead of beating me down, how about some help and a little less ATTITUDE. :notgood:

And if you don't believe me about the 650+HP numbers, CALL THE GUY I GAVE YOU THE PHONE NUMBER AS ABOVE. IF YOU MIST IT HERE IT IS AGAIN. (1 866 219 5427) TOLL FREE. HIS NAME IS ( IMMI ). TALK TO HIM YOURSELF. WHEN YOUR DONE. WRITE BACK AND TELL ME THAT I'M FULL OF S#!T. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE THAT.

No one here is giving you any attitude..... yet. Like i said before do a lot of searching around on this site, it is apparent that you have alot to learn yet.

What the hell is your second paragraph talking about?

Too bad Immi wasn't there when I called (5:50 local time), but I'll try again Tuesday after Easter long weekend. Funny though, that Immi is making around 100 WHP more on a mitsu housing turbo in general than anyone has made before. Most anyone's made is what, 600-630 WHP with a giant FP3065? Funny how nobody has seen or heard of this miracle 700 WHP talon in Edmonton either :tease:

On that note, if Immi is so great that he can single handedly prove thousands of other DSM's wrong, he must be some god of motor knowledge, right? Why don't you just ask Immi what compression ratio you should run.

IMMI sayed 8.5:1 would be good enough. but i just wanted to make sure.
He has built engines for track and mostlly rally builds. he had built rally cars for years.

But he thinks that I'm going to kill myself. there is some things that he won't tell me, so i will find answers else-were.
And yes I do plan on running about 20+ lbs of boost. that was one of my main reasons of doing this.my low boost is to be set at 16lbs.
I'm not using a used engine with these mods, it's all going to be brand new. with-out NO2.

Talk is cheap newbie, your not the first and you won't be the last person on here to claim something and have nothing to back it up. Anyone who has ever made claims like that has posted some sort of FACTUAL DATA to support there claims. You friend mimi is trying to tell you something by not helping you with your 500hp death trap.

Is this your friends mystical 650+hp turbo that will only support MAX 500??

Prove me wrong :tease:

You talk to him, and you get him to send you the facts. he might do that for you.

I don't have to prove anything, I just race in rallies and drive around town.
I'm just bored and an old man likes to here what you young punks have to say.
obversely you guys don't really race much or maybe you do.don't know.
most of your good HP is all in the head. A turbo will make huge power only with the right head work done. the SUPER 20G is good for 500HP with stock head and pistons and valves. get better pistons oversizedvalves(5angle) port and Polish intake and exhaust and stuff and the same turbo will make a lot more power than that. and I've done it on other engines and don't need no piece of paper to tell me that. just not on a turbo engine.
But then again, I'm building it for me anyway.

Ok this is getting old, your making the claims, YOU SHOULD BE PROVING ME WRONG. And i'm not a young punk i'm 32 yrs. old. So good luck 500hp 20g monster.

Oh and head flow don't mean squat if the turbo can only flow so much air. Thats why they state on the Hahn site as the MAX HP for the SUPER 20g is 500 because it will only flow enough air to support 500hp and still stay within the comp. effiency range.

Have you even seen a stock 1g head? The ports are huge. You don't want to open up the runners anymore than they already are. Remove a couple of the casting flaws and polish the exhaust and good to go.

Let me say that I will be quite happy with 475-520...

My building mods...

BIG FMIC (28X8.5X3)
2.5" hard pipes
750 CC injectors
SAFC2
Wiseco forged 8.5's
BSE
All balanced
All Blueprinted
All ARP
All freshly bored .020 over
MAF/T coming soon (already installing the MAF)
T4E/T3 - 57 trim cold side, 48 hot.
3" free flow exhaust
Wal 255LP
Slight port and heavily POLISHED head. The damn exhaust runners are mirrors... The opening until the injector angle is also polished on the intake
SLP (StraightLinePerformance) manifold
35 mil External WG
EDIT: Forgot a PROPPERLY hooked up Cyclone intake.

and more that I am forgeting I am sure... Like all the head parts...

Not performance related
Data logger
Guages...
EGT
AFR
OP
FP

So I will say that I am running a much larger turbo than you are, and gave a much more detailed hard parts list...

I am not calling you a liar by any means (but that 647 is a joke right?), but from what you listed, you MIGHT break 400.
Again, without sheets it is all meaningless.

tork1 .. you are just an idiot. 1/2 the things you said can't be true and you really aren't ready for these kind of numbers yet. Slap a 16g on and run 13s like most other dsmers that don't know shit.

I can't wait to talk to Immi on tuesday. I feel it will go something like this.

"Hey Immi, I heard you made a buttload of power on a big 20G turbo? What are your secrets?"

"LOTS OF OCTANE BOOST! 4 BOTTLES! BIG EXHAUST!! IMMI MAKE BIG POWER, 700 WHP ON BUTT DYNO!"

"Immi, did you ever have that on a real dyno, like a mustang dyno, dynapack, etc?"

"BUILD PROVEN 700 HP DSM, IMMI DON'T NEED NO ELECTRONICS TO TELL HIM HOW MUCH HP CAR MAKE!"

I'm sorry, I couldn't resist. You tell us to prove you wrong, when there is already tons of evidence on here proving you wrong. That's like somebody running into the White House and yelling "George Bush is a black woman from Russia, you've all seen that he's a white texan, BUT PROVE ME WRONG!" Untill you show us something, you're just dead wrong.

If you want to make 500hp, easy just go out and buy a new C6 Corvette and there you go no turbo to mess with no having to call IMMI about his magic turbo powder or anything like that. Trust me when I say if we need to tell you how to build 500hp then you don't need it.
