Major problem with boost... HELP!

on my 91 tsi awd that i just bought it ran fine on the way home till i was just about home then it started to idle funny when i got gas. it goes baw baw baw baw baw like a v8 when idleing and drives ok under non boost but as soon as it hits about 3 grand and boost is supposed to kick in it sounds like the turbo kicks in but it makes a noise like one of the cyllenders is missing or something and it dosnt accelerate at all compaired to what its supposed to. please help. sounds like plugs and wires. Pull out your spark plugs and take a look to see what it looks like. Check the wires to, make sure none are burnt up. My car did the samething once.
