Major problem with awd tranny please help

alright so my car started making this weird grinding noise so i thought maybe it was the transfer case....so i got all four wheels off the ground and started the car so i could let my freind go through the gears why i got under the car to listen....well he puts it in gear and starts going...and the front passenger side wheel barely spins...and when it does spin it makes the grinding noise that i've been hearing..and its coming from the tranny...all other wheels spin in sync except for this one...it's trying to spin and when it does it makes that horrible grinding noise....any opinions??

1 have you changed fluids? its a good place to start

2. sounds like wear in te universal joint bearings. (it has a metallic grinding sound)

a bad u joint would cause the front passenger wheel to not spin with the others?

I'd say one of your differentials is toast
