You do NOT need to change the MAS to change the air filter. Here is the K&N drop in air filter from JNZ for $39.99: K&N Drop In Air Filter-1G DSM : JNZ Tuning

This will work for both turbo and non/turbo 4G63's. Which one do you have?

you don't need a new MAF. you can buy a conical filter and then an adapter that screws on to the stock 1G MAF. if you're really on a budget, you can use a cylindrical K&N air filter, existing lid, and bungee everything down. I ran that on my starion back in the day but I wouldn't recommend it...

in the future, please use correct spelling and grammar is it makes it significantly easier for people to understand what you are asking.

(fat can) not (fart can)

Ahhh!

To the OP, you can cut away the can and just leave the lid and filter (with the MAS inside). Here is my old n/t engine with the "fat can" cut away (you can even cut away more then I did if you want).
