Ok i know awd is better in general but thats not my question. Is lsd almost the same or just as good as awd??? I have invested alot into my car now and im thinkin of forking over the cash for a quafe LSD. Is it worth the cash??? Will it kill off the launch just like awd does?? I dont want to spend 1,000 dollars for something that wont match up to awd.

Based on the mods listed in your profile, there are a lot of things I would get before an LSD as expensive as the quaife. If your profile is out of date and you are indeed ready for something like that, yes it is a good investment. No it alone will not get you to cut 60 foot times like an AWD car with similar mods.

No LSD will not going to be great like AWD. Simple fact you will still only have two tires rotating. LSD is mainly to prevent wheel hop though it does help traction a little bit.

My goal is mid-low 13's in the 1/4 w/ a big 16g and 550 cc injectors plus all my current mods in which i stated above. Do i even need a lsd??? I have 19 inch rims with toyo proxe 4 tires

Edit: woops maybe i didnt state them- greddy E01 bc @ 15 psi, apexi n1 turboback exhaust, Dejon tool uppper and lower ic piping, dejon tool intake pipe, K&N air filter, and greddy type s blow of valve

It will help to give you better traction off the line but it wont give you AWD like traction. What it really does is improve the cornering ability of FWD's. Less "push" in the corners and you can really power out of the corners to a greater degree. Really it does more good in the twisties rather than a straight line.

Poly motor mounts, tower braces and as low as you can in the front and keep the rear of the car high will help with traction. LSD's help with putting power to both wheels. Motor mounts will do the most against wheel hop.

If you are worried about traction, ditch those 19's. Slicks are a necessity for real FWD speed. If the look of slicks isn't your thing or you can't leave your 19's your in the wrong business. ;)

Where is a good place i can get some of those motor mounts. As for suspension how is the eibach pro kit and some tokico 4 way adjustables

I had a Quaife in my GTI VR6 and it did help with traction off the line and cornering. But it was in no way shape or form anywhere near what AWD is. It's was better than an open diff by 30% I would say. AWD is better by 10,000% just to give you an idea.

I have a Quaife in my car along with a ACT 2600 and a prothane motor mount kit. I get NO wheelhop anymore but 1st gear is still a joke. I'm dropping it with tokico springs and 5way adjustable shocks... Hopfully that will help along with some bigger stickier tires. But now in 2nd I hook all the way and bark into third. No more constant spinning! 1st gear is better than with the stock diff but still just spins. I can't wait for better tires and suspension.
Check my profile for all mods

Just a little note to everyone... Toyo Proxies TPT's SUCK! I got them because they were cheap and i was in desperate need of new tires. They have NO traction whatsoever! There 2 years old with 3,500 miles on them, 8/32's of tread left (9/32 brand new) but now I'm looking to get rid of them! Just a waste of money for FWD's.

RRE has motor mounts. Not sure about the control arms though.
