Can i block it off(lower nipple) or do i have to recirculate back to intake? I am recirculating right now except for the lower nipple(rear side) of BOV. Can i leave it as it is or do i also want this recirculated back to intake? When i did a boost leak test it held up to 15psi then everything over 15psi went through that nipple. My boost gauge shows -.6(BAR) at idle so i am thinking of a boost leak. Also my BOV makes fluttering noise instad of high woosh sound. What do you think?

it sounds like you have a vacuum leak how is your idle  and on the type s the only to things that need intake are the recirculating tube that goes to the intake and the little nipple right on top the one in the back facing down stay open with nothing connected to it thats little thing is what make the type s sound so great :thumb:

When I had it installed into my 2g AWD I left it uncapped. Some peolpe run a line to the licp nipple, but I left it uncapped. Some people reported it operated faster this way. RRE had a tech article where they said to left it uncapped.

Perform a boost leak test, it will tell you if you indeed have a boost leak.

Adjust your blow off valve.

Leave the lower nipple un capped and don't worry about it. YOu can hook up a hose that goes from a boost source(licp, uicp, turbo outlet pipe, etcc...) and it supposedly opens faster than if you left the nipple open. As for the fluttering sound your bov isn't adjusted properly. When I had my type s I found that by seating the adjustment screw about a 1/3" out netted the best result. All cars are different so to adjust it take your car out and keep moving the screw out until it stop fluttering. Then tighten down the locking nut and have fun.

when i start it cold, i have to keep rpm up manually until it warms up. Once it does it stays at 800rpm at idle. It will just die if i don't hold them up manually.

That is wrong. The nipples have nothing to do with the sound the BOV makes.

civickiller - I had the same problem with mine fluttering when I first installed it. I called RRE, where I bought it from, and they told me to run a hose from the lower nipple of the BOV, back to the upper intercooler pipe ( before the bov ).

You will have too tap into the pipe, assuming that you have replaced the stock pipe with a hard pipe that fits the Greddy type S bov.

I did mine on the straight secion of the pipe, right after the 90* bend that enters into the engine compartment, but before the BOV. The most important thing is that it must be between the BOV and the IC.

My BOV came with enough extra hose too use. Just buy another nipple at a hardware store or maybe a auto parts store. Drill and tap the UIC pipe. I used some plumbers thread tape on the new nipple and screw it onto the pipe, then connect both nipples with the supplied hose.

Not everyone has had to do this but it fixed all my problems which sounds exactly what is happening to you so check into it.

RRE or anyother shop should know about it if you have any other questions.

i have extra nipple in my Injen intake that is blocked for now, can i use this nipple as a boost source.

No, It has to go back somewhere between the intercooler and the BOV, not the intake.

I know it is a pain in the a** because you just get everything installed and then you have to take it apart again, but that is where it needs to go. Not sure the exact reason why, just what RRE had told me.

Just take the upper intercooler pipe off with the BOV attached and the drill and tap, then clean out all of the shavings and reinstall.

Some might say you can drill and tap with it installed and then use a magnetic rod to go in and clean out the shavings, but I wouldn't suggest it. Their is nothing that would prevent any shavings from going right into the throttle body and the engine.

thanks for the advise, but i also need help with my boost gauge. It got stock in the same position(needle that is). Needle is not moving at boost. Could that be a kink somewhere? It goes down really slow(below zero) and does not come up at all(above zero) What can it be?
