Could someone tell me what the 2nd nipple on the lower side of the Greddy Type S bov is for? I have a T and a hose in my install kit ( no manual ) and I thought someone said it ran down somewhere by the wastegate? If so which lines do I splice into the T? I notice theres already a T formed right before the wastegate where the lines coming from the boost selenoid and something else meet together and then the hose that runs to the wastegate nipple... so could someone be extremely specific as to how I hook the 2nd lower nipple on the BOV up? thanks a bunch

That was my intention - now if someone gets to the bottom and still doesn't understand, there it all is, clearly outlined in one post. Hopefully it will help some other newbies like me.

BTW, I sealed the bottom chamber with RTV silicone gasket maker and it works perfectly now, no compressor surge, no leak. My advice would definitely be to use the second nipple, that is what it is there for.

please post some pix of the lower nipple being connected to the UICP......... how did you make a connection on the UICP?

Forgot to mention that if anyone does test theirs and it holds pressure, mine could just be a bad example of a type-s. However, they don't have any rubber seals from the lower chamber down (the only "seal" is metal on metal), so I assume they are all the same? I might try to seal this with silicone to eliminate any leaks, I'll get back later to reveal if it works.

R U SURE U DIDN'T BUY A FAKE GREDDY TYPE-S FROM EBAY, they have a bunch of cheap imitations there.......is it a fake greddy bov or a genuine greddy one?

I don't have it connected to the UICP because I don't have hard pipes yet. It is teed into my BCS line, BUT this works for me BECAUSE I sealed the bottom chamber, otherwise don't do this. When I get my hard pipes I will tap a nipple into it before the BOV, and either use teflon tape or JB Weld (is this advisable?) to seal it.

Do you think that I could tap a nipple into the plastic part of the stock IC pipe?

Definitely is a real Greddy type s,

No it wont hold and your wont get a good seal on it. I personally dont think its worth doing all that. If you're on stock turbo theres not gonna be much change and im talking from experience. I have a buddy that made an uicp with a nipple on it when i had the stock turbo and i compared leaving the lower nipple open and then changed out the pipe and connected the nipple to the pipe and no change other than the bov was slightly louder. I just left it off but its your choice, experiment, thats what building cars is all about. Good luck

I am running a T28 and I was getting compressor surge up the wazooo, even with my BOV set all the way soft. My car definitely needs this second nipple, but I might leave it connected to my BCS line until I get hard pipes...

Sorry guys! Another 1 in a million greddy type s thread!

Okay I just got my real authentic greddy type s. Yeah I've checked everything and it's all legit. Brand new beat up old box unopened until I got it.

I read about all the threads in the search. My bov is making a cug pssssssh when I let off the gas pedal. The psssshhhhh don't bother me but the cug before the pssshhh does. It' don't flutter. Is that normal for the bov because alot of the ones I've heard just makes the psssssssshhhh clean noise. I've searched lots of youtube vids but I don't hear the same noise( the cugggg noise) Will mostly the vids are either vta, high boost, or external gate.
I've also read that hooking the lower nipple to the compressor housing will help with lower boost applications... my boost with my manual controller is 15 psi.
Thanks!

Well everyone is saying don't tee off the pressure source to the lower nipple. This question hasnt been asked yet, im running my pressure source straight off the intercooler niple to the nipple on the wastegate for its pressure. I should be able to tee into that one correct?

No. Take your BOV pressure source from one of the intake manifold vacuum lines. The BOV should have its own dedicated hose, with nothing else teed into it.

Also, no need to resurrect a 7-year old thread.
