The lower nipple on my type s BOV (which I have uncapped) pulls a tremendous amount of vacuum at idle, and it's directly related to the manifold vacuum from the upper nipple. I know this because I kinked the upper hose and the vacuum stopped. is this normal? I never noticed it until recently. Also lately the BOV will release pressure fine at first but always ends up fluttering at the end. I have the spring adjusted all of the way out and I also removed the inner BOV spring to try and stop the flutter but to no avail. could this be related?

you're right.... if there was a "mandatory search botton" feature on here then awesome DSM gods like yourself wouldn't have to waste their time replying to newbie threads like mine. By the way, thanks for the links.

Is that sarcasim I am seeing? Just trying to stress the basics. I do alot of linking that could be avoided is all. Just make sure you search you behind off before asking a typical question next time.

Glad I could help.

Okay, after reading all of these threads I'm SUPER CONFUSED. First off, my situation is that i took my car in to have a leakdown test done along with them fogging the IC piping to look for boost leaks (i know how to do a Boost Leak test but i figured, while they got it, they can do it). When i got the car back they said that a hose off my BOV had came off. I assumed they ment the main BOV line going to the IM.

Well, today i'm taking my IC piping apart and noticed that they capped off the lower nipple on my Type S BOV. So, i start reading and am thouroughly confused. Some say leave it uncapped, my shop seems to think it should be capped, some say to hook it up to the nipple underneath the turbo inlet.

What is confusing to me is that according to another thread i read on here, my MBC should be hooked up to that nipple (along with the wastegate nipple). So, what gives? Do i have my MBC hooked up wrong? The reason i'm concerned is that my ride doesn't seem to be boosting correctly and yet i can't find a leak to save my life.
