my engine is running crappy right now i havent done a compressoin test yet had a quick question.....would a chipped valve or something internal like that bring down my vaccume cause im at like -10 right now at idle

a chipped valve would not be good, but i would geta compression test, its not that much to do a compression test, i would go from there then......and yes a chipped valve could do that........

A single chipped valve would show up as a quickly bouncing needle on a vacuum gauge. It would bounce whenever it hit that cylinder because the vacuum would drop drastically every time that valve tried to seal but couldn't.

He is right. Sounds like you may have skipped timing and bent some valves. When I bent mine about 2 weeks ago the car had a consistant -10hg and it got more when I reved it but that was about it. It is VERY hard to chip a valve anyways. Sounds like you bent a good part of your valvetrain.

Especially after your swaybar posts.

well thats pretty shtty...ya the needle bounces. My last engine went because i chipped a valve in the 3rd cylinder...ya today as soon as i get my comp tester back from my friend ill do it.

1. Do a compression test like everyones telling you. If you have poor compression do a leak down test after that. If you continue to have poor compression. Go to the next step.

2. Check all your timing marks if they are lined up properly. If you just skipped a tooth or two you will not bend your valves but your vacuum pressure will drop because there will be less to no compression depending how much it skipped.

If you still continue to have the same problems than I believe your head is shot my friend. I mean your cars head LOL.
