I have a 95 Eagle Talon N/T with an automatic tranny. I was wondering what exactly is the "low" gear and if its ok to drive in low gear and if i could get better performance in that gear considering it always redlines. will i damage my engine if i drive in that gear or should i drive in "drive". Will the "low" gear give me better acceleration and performance ???????????????????

You will not gain or lose performance by selecting gears. Its better to just leave it in drive and forget about it. The only time you really need to select another gear is in bad weather so you have more control over the car.
