What are your guy's thoughts on the gears? Good/ bad reviews would be appreciated!

I was just curious how the Evo 3rd-4th gears compare to the 91 3rd-4th gears. If they are as strong as the 91, or are they undercut like the 93+?

I like the fact that they are close ratio and double syncro, but I see shep uses something different for his 3-4th?

I have torn apart my tranny, and pretty much everything was junk, or not something I would trust. I have a twin disc to run with my new tranny. I just want something that will hold up and last.

I'm pretty noob in the tranny field, so please help educate me :)

Have you checked out Jackstransmissions.com? The gears are expensive, I wanted to get them but I'm not sure if it'll fit my FWD(f5m33).

They are the strongest helical gears you can get IMO. We have quite a few people in the 600hp range that use them and so far they have been great!

I'm sorry to say no the EVOIII gears do not fit the FWD trans. You can use the taller EVOIII 5th, but that's it. The gears in the FWD units are a different animal than the AWD units.

 That's no good but it can't be helped. Oh well.

You can weld the center diff in an AWD trans and use it instead. The AWD units have stronger gears anyway. You would have to swap the starter plate, weld the center diff, and get an AWD FW. Depending on year you might have to swap the shafts too.

Well that works. Something for me to look into.
