Loud metalic noise upon acceleration

Hi there. I need Help.

I have a 98 talon esi. And this is my first clutch. We'll I already knew how to drive one But i dont know much about theM

when i accelerate i hear a noise that sounds like chains rattling on The ground. Please help!!!! Im afraid to dive it now.... im not sure if its as sinple as my exhaust covers rattling or something more serious. Its really loud!!!

Throw out bearing? Does the sound go away when you engage the clutch?

Rule out the heat shields on the exhaust first.

Pop the hood, make sure the manifold shield is tight. Then the down pipe, then the shields by the cat.
