I have had this problem for awhile and could not locate it till now. if I allow the car to hit or get close to rev limiter (8,500) it will have a misfire for 10-30 seconds afterwards. the other night I had the hood off and the problem occurred I pulled over and jumped out the first coil was not firing at all the second coil (2&3) was working fine. I can pretty much rule out the coil pack as I replaced it already and the problem persisted. At this point I am pointing fingers at either the ECU or the ignition control module.
has anyone ever ran into something like this.
I have a 93 eprom in my 90 with a adapter piece (invert the signal) from dsmchips. I am running a custom chip I put together on tuner pro. I feel like if it was in the chip itself all coils would be dead.
this is not an every-time failure but every 2nd or 3rd time. it will never do it on normal driving only when I am hitting the higher RPMS.
