another idea test the coil pack if havent already im not sure what the resistance should be off the top of my head maybe one of the wise man can help you with the exact spec or past fourms

Thanks for the reminder. I've been meaning to swap my coil pack. Thankfully, my buddies DSM is down for the count so I am able to borrow parts. :)

Our Tachs are'nt always dead on....look at your RPM on the Logge maybe its hitting the REV limit?

Well, that wouldn't explain my problem while driving.

When I am actually driving the car instead of the tach just looking like it's hitting rev limiter, it feels like fuel cut. The car shakes back and forth.

I have checked the fuel pressure and it seems fine but when it hits 5k RPM and about 10lbs the car jerks wildly.

(I guess I should have posted this in the initial post... I'm an idiot.)

How did you check your wires to see if they're good? Also do you have a low rev limiter for launching? and is your vehicle speed sensor connected?

I have Taylor wires. I tested them with a Fluke and they were better than the ones I almost bought at AutoZone.

I do not have a low rev limiter. I will need to get back to you on the speed sensor. Where is that located?

Start your car at night and let it run. Let it warm up and pop the hood. Look for any arcing from the wire to the valve, strut bar(if you have one), intake manifold, or anything metal close to the wires. You'll be able to see it plain as day. If it's arcing the sheathing on your wires is bad. Even if the Fluke meter had good results it's possible that the sheathing is bad. Is your speedometer working?

If your speedometer is working then your vehicle speed sensor is fine

I almost willing to bet that your coil is bad if you havent fixed it yet bring it down and i will test it for you or you can take it off the car and take it to autozone and they will test it for you i just ran into this problem on my grand am and it unded up beeing a bad ignition control module and coil packs

have you checked your fuel filter you say you have fuel cut so its worth a try

A problem like this I've experienced to be bad engine grounds on my car, I hope you take a good look at your engine bay.

Good luck.

If you could provide us with some sort of log that would definitely help diagnose the problem. Seriously, from the video it almost sounds like you BOV or your waste gate is acting up and letting out at strange intervals. It may just be the quality of the sound, but have you tried a vacuum gauge?

I am in the process of replacing the timing belt, etc. My timing was off just a little and I am hoping that's the problem. I should have it all back together by Saturday so I can report back.

Hopefully I have good news on Saturday!

I tried replacing the coil pack. No luck.

I have checked the waste gate and it seems to be operating properly.

I will look into this once I rule out the timing issue.

The fuel pressure is good.

To you guys that are having this problem.

Check your TPS.

Make sure it reads 10% at idle and 100% at WOT. And when going from idle to WOT there are no dead spots. You can verify this by graphing it with your logger.
