So I realise every 4g63 i have owned has been tampered with so im unsure of the correct routing for the turbo lines. First thing is, the oil port off the head. I have seen these blocked before. Is this safe? Why do people block them off? The 7 bolt car I bought feeds the turbo from a after market steel braided line by the oil filter, a 6bolt I saw feed the turbo oil from the head port? I've never even seen a oil line coming from the head there on any of my 4g63's? It has always been a bolt plugging that spot. Why is this? How is it from the factory?
The way I've always seen the turbo coolant lines is feed from the lower thermostat housing nipple and returned to the hard pipe near the thermostat. Is this correct? That car is my 97 7bolt FWD with a 16g setup. Also, it has the coolant line from the block going to the oil filter housing. Is this correct?
My 4g63/4g64 build has a plug in the block where the banjo bolt goes for the coolant. I figure no big deal, I'll take the fittings out of my 7bolt. Well, they're too small. So do I need to order a 4g64 fitting to complete the coolant flow from the oil filter housing to the block? Why did this block have a plug there?
No you see, now I am confused. Could anyone clear up those few questions for me?
