Little info on the car first.
1990 Talon tsi
JDM 6bolt
FP green turbo
Old FIC lowZ 650cc injectors(i know they will be upgraded soon)
SD setup with Link v3
255 pump/ aeromotiv FPR @ 43.5
Ingersoll Rand boost soleniod(currently disconnected)
Boost leak test holds pressure at 28psi.(small leak at biss, waiting for new screw)
Car had gm maf and translator with stock turbo when I got it. Was not running. I retuned the translator and got it running great to 18psi before tearing down for fp green and SD with link. Since then I have read a ton and learned to SD tune with no maf(no expert though). Got the idle down and the car is drivable now. Still tweaking the SD chart at mid boost and timing. All logs and data seem to be reading correctly as far as I can tell, Im still learning.
Question/concerns I need help with-
1. My global ended up being way richer than calculated global, and dead time way higher. Prosport digital wide-band hooked up with both wide and narrow band signals (no narrow sim in link) Ive checked afr on my wide-band seems to be right and runs well at that global setting. I could throw a stock o2 in with some rewiring to confirm if needed.
2. Boost cuts out at 10psi(waste gate not open), thought it was bad plugs and wires, put new ngk 7s and plug wires on because they did look bad but still the same, next option to check igniter coil pack. Disconnected my boost solenoid and setup for just wast gate pressure to eliminate it not being setup correctly, no effect.
3. I'm getting knock in my logs when too much throttle low boost situations, Ive removed some timing in the middle which helped but not sure if that's the problem. When I ease into the throttle as boost build I get a lot less knock. None to very little.
Log attached of most recent ride with a little of all those issues in it. Not sure if I should wipe clean and start over or keep going any help will be appreciated. Im just looking to get to 20psi safely with all issues addressed before I have it tuned by a professional. As long as my knock isnt something worse.
