I've tried using the stock 1g knock sensor and couldn't get a reliable consistent reading no matter how much I tweaked the settings. With the bosh wideband I had it all setup and reading correct with a hour or so of tuning.

Yeah the 1g sensor has a faint signal even when new. I remember one of the AEM techs claiming that the 1g sensor doesn't even work, which is ridiculous. But the signal is weak. So he was saying to use a 2g sensor or an Evo 8 sensor (with the EMS).

With the Bosch sensor, what filter are you using with it? Is it one of the ones in that table in my 3rd pic above?

I notice in that table that for the Evo 6 and after, they suggest using a 13kHz narrow band filter and the stock factory sensor. I wonder why? If that is good for Evos, seems like it should be good for our cars too.
