Getting everything ready to put my 92 laser rs back together. Had a guy at my work swap over some valves and what not from one head to another. He recommended soaking the lifters in oil for a couple of days to prevent lifter noise and possible driveabiliy issues. So my question is, are there any more steps or precautions I should take when putting the new head back together?

make sure everything is done properly, use new parts liftersm, valve stem seals, check for warpage, basic head rebuild, with any head.

Thanks! I replaced the seals. I asked about the condition of the valves. He said that if they were bent they would have not came out as easy. No obvious cracks or anything. I have never messed with any valve terrin, and I want to make sure everthing is done correctly

I highly recommend the revised lifters with the larger oiling hole. The small oil hole on the top is just way too small and they will tick after 1k miles.

Bleed those lifter down for sure!! If you changed your camshafts then the height they are pumped up to at the moment may be too high so it could bend valves. Just to be sure. Bleed the lifters down and install them dry. They will tick for a couple minutes on 1st start up but will go away.
